Meet Marsha Durfee, Owner and Instructor
Marsha Durfee, a Certified Professional Public Master Dog Trainer with ASCTI, brings over 19 years of expertise to our team. With accolades including certifications from the American Kennel Club and Do More with Your Dog, Marsha is committed to ensuring the highest standards of training excellence. Her extensive experience ranges from obedience to specialized tasks, including service and therapy dog training, Detection, SAR & HRD K9s.
In February 2014, Marsha was among the first recipients of a scholarship to attend a week-long training class with Cesar Millan at his Dog Psychology Center in California.
Marsha is passionate about helping veterans train their own PTSD/TBI service dogs. These highly trained dogs perform various tasks, including turning lights on, waking from nightmares, getting help, and finding the phone.
Marsha the original trainer for the Arkansas Paws in Prison Program in North Central Arkansas, where she spent over four and a half years teaching male inmates how to train the dogs in obedience, service dog training, and courtroom dog skills. in her unit she had 100% successful adoption rate.
Marsha believes in providing the highest quality training using safe and humane methods. Her programs involve the entire family, from children to grandparents, ensuring everyone is part of the dog's training process.
She enjoys working with her own dogs daily, engaging them in physical exercises and mental stimulation activities, such as Parkour, Narcotic Detection & HRD (Human Remains Detection)
Marsha believes each dog is an individual, learning at their own pace. She recognizes the diversity within breeds and tailors her approach accordingly. She continually updates her skills through online workshops, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring her methods remain current and effective.
In the summer of 2021, Marsha developed a new certification for dog trainers, which was approved by the ASCTI board in January 2022. This certification, available in the U.S. and internationally, focuses on teaching puppies to senior dogs how to swim and stay safe around water.
Marsha and her Husband, Randy, are dedicated to developing new classes and workshops to benefit their community and the tri-state area. By expanding their offerings and collaborating with other specialized trainers, they aim to reduce the number of dogs entering shelters. Introducing Randy Durfee Sr.,
Lead SAR (Search & Rescue Tracking) , Weapons Detection Trainer Randy Durfee Sr. holds multiple prestigious certifications, including ASCTI Certified Public Forum Trainer, Certified AKC Safe Handler, AKC CGC Evaluator, AKC Farm Dog Judge, and Fetch Judge.
Commitment to Education and K9 Safety Randy's passion for education and K9 safety is evident in his dedication to teaching children how to handle dogs safely and humanely. He emphasizes responsible pet ownership and assists owners in building strong bonds with their dogs through the KONG Winning with Your Dog Program.
Expertise in Specialized Training As our Lead Trainer for Search and Rescue (SAR) Tracking and Weapons Detection, Randy brings extensive expertise to these critical areas. His work ensures that our training programs are both comprehensive and effective, providing dogs and their handlers with the skills they need for various specialized tasks.

Joel has been part of the K9 Paws Family for, many years, he started out as a client with his service dog Luna.
Joel is our Volunteer Veteran's K9 Administer. Joel will help new Veterans with bonding with their dog, help with VA questions.
Joel is an Air Force Security Force Veteran

Richard and his Wife have been part of K9 Paws for over three years.
In Jan 2023 Richard Earned his Public Forum Trainer Certification from ASCTI.
He enjoys helping other Veterans like himself work with their K9s to become a Certified Service Dog Team. He Loves working with the Malinois and German shepherd breeds.
